Mainly motorsport and rugby (both codes) predictions this weekend. There is Test Cricket, the conclusion of he Giro d'Italia and French Open tennis continuing but I have no forecasts for these events this week.
In Motorsport we have the Turkish Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500 taking place tomorrow. In the GP I am predicting for Red Bull's winning run to continue but this time for Sebastian Vettel to take the honours and with McLaren improving I'm going for Hamilton to make the podium. In the Indy 500 my prediction is for Scot Dario Franchitti to win.
In rugby union this weekend sees the conclusion of the domestic league seasons with Saracens and Leicester at Twickenham in the Guinness Premiership final. In this game I am going for Leicester based on their experience but will be delighted if Saracens can triumph. In the Magners league Ospreys travel to Leinster and I think the Irish team will prevail in a close game and finally the French Top 14 climaxes today with Clermont playing Perpignan, in this game I am going for a Clermont win.
Rugby League's Challenge Cup continues this weekend with the highlight fixture being Wigan's visit to Leeds and due to the league form of the visitors my forecast is a Wigan win. Bradford host Warrington in another of the games and again I am going for an away win in that game.
The final predictions for this weekend are the final football league play-off finals and in League One I am going for Millwall over Swindon and in League Two Dagenham & Redbridge winning against Rotherham.
In summary the predictions are:
Turkish Grand Prix
Vettel to win at 11/8
Hamilton to podium at Evens
Indianapolis 500
Franchitti to win at 5/1
Guinness Premiership
Leicester to beat Saracens at 4/7
Magners League
Leinster to beat Ospreys at 8/15
French Top 14
Clermont to beat Perpignan at 11/13
Challenge Cup
Wigan to win at Leeds Rhinos at 13/8
Warrington to win at Bradford Bulls at 4/9
League One Play-Off
Millwall to beat Swindon at 15/13
League Two Play-Off
Dagenham & Redbridge to beat Rotherham at 9/5
My aim is to comment on a range of sports as like many people I have been fascinated with sport since a young age and have always had something to say, whether based on historical facts or statistics and the purpose of this blog is to share those thoughts with a wider audience than just friends down the pub or at the rugby club.

First Loss in a Few Weeks
Only 4 out of 10 correct predictions last week resulting in a loss of £4 last week and taking overall profits down to £26.50.
I knew it was difficult last week prior to making the predictions and that proved to be the case. Successes were Inter Milan winning the Champions League, Toulouse winning Rugby's Heineken Cup, and in Rugby League's Superleague wins for Wigan and Warrington.
Watch this space for this weekend's predictions coming soon.

European Finals & Much More
This weekend sees the climax to football's Champions League and the Heineken Cup as well as perhaps the most valuable game in football with the English Championship play-off final which Deloitte have estimated winning can be worth £90 million to the victors.
None of these games are easy to predict but starting with the football I am going for Mourinho's Inter Milan to triumph over Bayern Munich in Madrid, and it will be slightly strange watching a final of this tournament without English or Spanish representation for the first time in a few years. In the Championship play-off final at Wembley there are two teams yet to experience the Premiership in Cardiff and Blackpool. Both teams have colourful managers and have been in good form over the last couple of months which makes it very difficult to predict. My heart says Blackpool but my head says Cardiff and so that is my prediction for this game.
In Rugby Union both of their European tournaments reach their climax this weekend. In the Heineken Cup it is an all French affair between Toulouse and Biarritz and I can't see past Toulouse winning this game. The Challenge Cup also contains a French team, albeit with some English representation as Jonny Wilkinson's Toulon take on the Cardiff Blues. This is again close to call but I am going for the side based on the French Riviera.
Rugby League's Superleague continues in over the weekend and I have three predictions. Firstly, I'm going for Wigan to continue their winning run at the Crusaders, then for Warrington to beat Huddersfield and finally Harlequins to win at Wakefield.
It is the PGA Championship at Wentworth which again is hard to predict but based on his score yesterday I am going for a Luke Donald win.
My final predictions concern the third Moto GP of the season at Le Mans and as at the last race both Rossi and Stoner were outshone I am going for them both to return to form with a Rossi win and a Stoner podium.
To summarise this week's predictions are as follows:
Champions League Final
Inter Milan to beat Bayern Munich at 11/8
Championship Play-Off Final
Cardiff to beat Blackpool at 13/10
Heineken Cup Final
Toulouse to beat Biarritz at 1/3
Amlin Challenge Cup Final
Toulon to beat Cardiff Blues at 1/2
Engage Super League
Wigan to beat the Crusaders at 1/5
Warrington to beat Huddersfield at 1/3
Harlequins to win at Wakefield at 11/10
BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth
Luke Donald to win at 5/1
French Moto GP at Le Mans
Rossi to win at 6/4
Stoner to podium at 4/7

Another successful week of predictions
Another week gone and another profit as I predicted 9 from 10 results last week making it my most accurate so far. The only incorrect prediction was for Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium in the Monaco GP though he was always in the mix with his fifth place.
It was more than made up for by Webber's second win in a week, England's comprehensive defeat of Australia in the T20 World Cup, Leicester and Saracens making it to the Guinness Premiership final, Wigan and Harlequins winning their Super League games, Nadal triumphing in the Madrid Masters tennis whilst not forgetting the Cup successes of Dundee United and Chelsea.
This takes overall profits to £30.50 though I think this week is going to be tough to predict but watch this space.

FA Cups, Monaco GP and a Cricket Final
Like last week there is plenty of sport again on this weekend and difficult to know what to watch! For me the two highlights are the T20 Cricket final in the West Indies between England and Australia and the Monaco GP.
In the T20 cricket I am going for an England win even after the stunning performance by Australia and Hussey in particular to win their semi-final. In the GP my forecast is for Mark Webber to repeat his success of last week and to win in the Principality with Lewis Hamilton on the podium.
For many sports fans their highlights will be the FA and Scottish FA Cup finals. In the English version I am going for Chelsea to complete the double and become the third London team to do so and in Scotland my prediction is for Dundee United to beat Ross County. The Guinness Premiership is in the play-off phase and after Saracens' win at Leicester I am going for them to win at Northampton but for Leicester to beat Bath at Welford Road.
In Rugby League the Superleague continues I am predicting Wigan to win at Huddersfield and Harlequins to triumph at home versus Castleford. My final prediction is the Madrid tennis which no longer features Andy Murray but that has not affected my prediction as I would have gone for Nadal to win.
In summary my predictions are as follows:
T20 Cricket Final
England to beat Australia at 6/4
Monaco Grand Prix
Webber to win at 4/1
Hamilton to podium at Evens
FA Cup Final
Chelsea to beat Portsmouth at 1/5
Scottish FA Cup Final
Dundee United to beat Ross County at 4/7
Guinness Premiership Play-Offs
Saracens to beat Northampton at 21/10
Leicester to beat Bath at 2/5
Rugby League's Superleague
Wigan to beat Huddersfield at 4/7
Harlequins to beat Castleford at 4/7
Madrid Tennis Masters
Nadal to win tournament at 1/3

Profits Still on the Up
A £5.50 profit on the predictions last week and that means an accummulated profit of £21.50 on the blog currently.
Successes were in a broad range of sports with highlights being Mark Webber winning the Spanish GP, Northampton and Wasps' away wins in the Guinness Premiership and England's win against South Africa in the T20 World Championship which put them on track for the final tomorrrow.
This week's predictions will follow shortly.

Lots Going On!
There is a lot of top level sport on this weekend around the world. For many the highlight will be the end of the Premier League football season with the title still up for grabs between Chelsea and Manchester United.
The bookmakers are very confident of wins for both the protagonists and therefore the title going to West London in what could be a double winning season as Chelsea compete for the FA Cup next week at Wembley. My view is that it is not so cut and dried and I am predicting a Manchester United win and a Chelsea draw, with the title going to the North West (this may just be bias on my part!) In other games I'm going for two other draws in the games between West Ham & Manchester City and Fulham who visit Arsenal.
In the Guinness Premiership Rugby Union it is also the last game of the regular season and as with the football the relegation issue is already resolved with Worcester being relegated two weeks ago. The most intriguing match today is the game between Leicester and Saracens who have both qualified for the play-offs and in this match I am going for a home win rather than my team. My other two predictions are for away wins by Northampton at London Irish and Wasps at Newcastle who have a remote chance of qualifying for the play-offs.
In Rugby League the Challenge Cup returns this weekend and my two predictions are for games between Superleague teams. In the first game I am going for Warrington to win at Huddersfield and the second game for the Crusaders to defeat the Catalans.
The Super 8 phase of cricket's T20 World Cup is well underway and if England can beat South Africa this evening then they should be assured of a place in the semi-finals and so that is my prediction. Lee Westwood had a storming round yesterday at the Players' Championship, the unofficial fifth major and following that and his general form this season he is my prediction to win on Sunday evening.
Finally, the Formula One season has moved to Europe and the fifth Grand Prix of the season is taking place in Barcelona. The Red Bulls have looked top of the bunch in practice and it has also been good to see that Michael Schumacher appears to have found some pace in his Mercedes with the latest upgrades. Based on the information my prediction is a win for Mark Webber in the Red Bull and a podium finish for Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren.
In summary my predictions are:
Barclays Premier League
Manchester United to beat Stoke at 1/8
Chelsea to draw with Wigan at 9/1
Arsenal to draw with Fulham at 15/2
West Ham to draw with Manchester City at 11/4
Guinness Premiership Rugby
Leicester to beat Saracens at 1/3
Northampton to win at London Irish 8/13
Wasps to win at Newcastle 8/11
Rugby League's Challenge Cup
Warrington to win at Huddersfield at 18/19
Crusaders to beat the Catalans at 5/11
T20 Cricket
England to beat South Africa at 6/5
Golf - Players' Championship
Westwood to win at 9/5
Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona
Webber to win at 5/1
Hamilton to podium at 5/6

A Neutral Week
Last week's predictions were not bad other than the premier league football forecasts where I only correctly predicted one from four results, Manchester United winning at Sunderland. Thankfully all of my other predictions were correct giving me five from eight in total.
The correct predictions included Neil Robertson winning Snooker's World Championship, St. Helens' and Wigan's wins in the Superleague weekend at Murrayfield and finally Biarritz reaching the Heineken Cup final at the expense of Munster.
This means that I am still showing a £16 profit since the start of the blog but of course that can all change when I post this weekend's predictions later!

Profits Increasing
Apologies for no blog last week which was due to attending Rugby Club player's dinner which I can't really remember so must have been good!
In the previous week I was correct with 7 from 10 predictions meaning overall my profit is now at £16. The successes were led by correctly predicting both rugby league and both rugby union matches along with Hamilton getting on the podium in the Malaysian GP. The other successes were in the Premier League having forecast Manchester United winning their derby match with City and Sunderland defeating Burnley which was the penultimate nail in their relegation coffin.
This week I have football, rugby (both codes) and a snooker prediction which are summarised below:
Premier League Football
Liverpool to draw with Chelsea at 11/4
Fulham to draw with West Ham at 12/5
Manchester United to beat Sunderland at 2/5
Blackburn to draw with Arsenal at 5/2
Rugby Union Heineken Cup
Biarritz to be beat Munster at 5/4
Rugby League's Superleague
Wigan to beat Huddersfield at 4/7
St Helens to beat Hull KR at 2/9
Snooker World Championship Final
Robertson to beat Dott at 4/5
