So yet again a Brit comes up short in the semi-finals at Wimbledon and it will be at least 72 years since Bunny Austin's feat of reaching the final can be repeated.
Congratulations of course are due to Andy Roddick who won a titanic battle and kept his nerve in two tie-breaks. As I predicted only a few minutes ago I still think that Federer will win the final but it will not be an easy match.
With regards to Murray, he still has time to win a Grand Slam and he has proved this season that whilst the US Open will still be his best chance because the surface is better suited to his game he could potentially win any of the Slams after the performances he has put in at the other major's this season. To win Wimbledon whilst not beyond him will always be difficult because of the unique pressures that playing at home places on him.
